ANDREA RISEBOROUGH

Date of Birth: October 27, 1981

Born and raised in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, England, Andrea Riseborough began performing at a young age. As a child, she has referred to herself as "geeky" and preferred to read plays than watch cartoons. After being bored in school, she dropped out and took on some part-time jobs before securing a place at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA).

Since graduating in 2005, she has been busy acting in many different venues including film, stage and television. The 30-year-old actress has gained sucess starring in movies such as Never Let Me Go alongside Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley and Brighton Rock, which debuted at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.

Riseborough can be also seen in W./E., directed by Madonna, playing the character of Wallis Simpson, an American woman with whom King Edward VIII (James D'Arcy) fell in love.

The international actress is classically trained in ballet. She is also an alto singer, qualified stage fighter and a dance teacher in genres such as contemporary, jazz, tap and modern.
