Emma Stone's desire to be an actress began at a young age. As a child, her parents enrolled her at the Valley Youth Theatre near their Scottsdale, Arizona home. At age 11, Stone made her stage debut starring in The Wind in the Willows and would go on to star in over a dozen more productions at the youth theatre.

Stone moved to Los Angeles with her mother when she was 15 years old, and began acting professionally soon after. She first appeared in the VH1 reality TV show In Search of The Partridge Family in 2004. The show was a nationwide search for actors to star in a sitcom remake of the hit '70s show The Partridge Family. Stone won the coveted role of Laurie Partridge, and although the show was cancelled after the pilot, it served as a springboard for the young actress' career.

Over the next few years, Stone appeared in a number of popular TV shows including Medium, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Malcom in the Middle. She then landed a recurring role on the short-lived Fox drama Drive.

Stone began her film career with a prominent role in the raunchy teen comedy Superbad (2007), before moving on to roles in The Rocker (2008), The House Bunny (2008), Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009), but it was when she starred in Easy A (2010) that Emma earned A-list status, as well as a Golden Globe nomination for her work in the movie and an MTV Award.

Since then, she's completed roles in Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) with Ryan Gosling, The Help with Bryce Dallas Howard and played Spider-Man's love interest, Gwen Stacy, in The Amazing Spider-Man (2011). She teamed up once again with Gosling for the 2013 action flick Gangster Squad set in Los Angeles in the 1940s before reprising her role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) alongside Andrew Garfield.

In 2015, Emma was again nominated for a Golden Globe, this time for her work in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014). Although she didn't win, just days after the ceremony it was announced that she was also nominated for an Academy Award for her work in the film.

Emma's most recent projects include Irrational Man (2015), Cameron Crowe's Aloha (2015), and the much-talked-about musical La La Land (2016) with Ryan Gosling. For her work in La La Land, Emma won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Other awards she's won for this role include a Golden Globe and Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival. She was also nominated for a Critics' Choice Award.

Emma dated her The Amazing Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield on and off for four years.
